Meet the Authors

Ash & Creed authors are dedicated to exploring sacred questions. They don’t arise only in spiritual communities—they emerge wherever human beings are trying to live with meaning, responsibility, and hope.

  • Author, The Heretic Hunters

Peter Faur, a native St. Louisan, was the religion editor of The St. Louis Globe-Democrat, where he worked from 1977 to 1982. He spent most of his career in public relations, working in telecommunications, chemical manufacturing, brewing, and copper mining.

Faur holds a bachelor of arts degree in education with minors in theology and psychology from Concordia University, Chicago; a master’s degree in journalism from Kansas State University; and master’s degrees in business administration and management from Fontbonne University in St. Louis.

His first novel, Red Metal, told the story of a battle between a hedge fund manager and the CEO of a copper mining company.

His pastimes include writing, reading, running, and movie-going. He and his wife, Pat, have lived in Phoenix since 2003.
